Critical Information: PSA 1.6 HDi Turbochargers 2004+

BTN Turbo have released a flyer containing critical information when replacing the PSA 1.6 HDi Turbochargers 2004+.

BTN have updated this document to give further instruction on how to manage the task of replacing a turbocharger on this engine and have added a ‘shopping list’ of parts which will be required and a further list of items which may be needed, when changing these turbos. The aim of this documentation is to assist the garage when taking on this procedure, but also to highlight a potential opportunity for you to sell additional products alongside the turbocharger.

Due to the problematic nature of this engine we need to point out, even with these improved efforts, including the recent oil strainer addition, there is no guarantee this engine will not have an adverse effect on the turbo. The vast majority of turbo failures continue to be as a direct result of excessive carbon build up in the engine, which can be difficult to remove.

On a positive note, we have seen a reduction of returns to BTN over the last 12 months and will continue to update you on any changes to the process.

All documentation at BTN Turbo has now been updated to Issue 009, please ensure if you, or any of your branches have the earlier issue of the document saved locally, they update it with the latest version.
