Factory move doubles capacity to drive European growth.
Shaftec, a leading aftermarket supplier of remanufactured and new transmission, braking and steering parts for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, has upgraded to new Midlands-based premises; in a move which will double production and stocking capacity for the TecDoc certified data supplier.
Tom Curtis, Shaftec director explained: “Moving to bigger, more central premises will allow us to operate with increased efficiency and to bring to fruition some exciting development plans.
“The fact that Shaftec is thriving while the wider economy and manufacturing sector is still in recovery is true testament to the hard work put in by our whole team.”
This development is the culmination of a significant investment plan which has seen employee numbers increase by 18 percent and stock holding by 45 percent over the past 12 months. It signals the company’s determination to further increase its presence in the UK, across Europe and beyond; cementing its position as a major global player in its field.
The new factory comprises 42,000 square feet and is situated in the heart of Birmingham’s industrial Centre, the inner city district of Hockley. Fully equipped with the latest machinery and technology for increased efficiency, the facility also incorporates an additional production line to support increased demand.
Tom continued: “Our business is growing, our customer base is expanding and by committing to these premises we are sending out a clear message that the Shaftec brand is rapidly gaining momentum.
“With a strong brand and cohesive offer, we exhibited at last year’s Automechanika, Frankfurt for the first time and interest was high. By actively seeking likeminded distributors which will allow the brand to grow in a controlled way, I believe we are more than ready to make our presence felt in the wider European Aftermarket.”
