Launch Borg & Beck Rotating Electrics Catalogue & Gear Linkage

The First Line Group (FLG) has published its latest product catalogue, this time for its outright purchase, exchange free, Borg & Beck rotating electrics programme.

The 1,030-page catalogue, designated 27A, contains all of its 1,064 alternator and 640 starter motor references, as well as 83 free wheel pulleys and full details of its free wheel pulley removal and replacement tool, which FLG recently introduced to complement the programme.

It is vital that the free wheel pulley fitted to a particular alternator application, is functioning correctly, otherwise it will compromise the performance of the alternator. Therefore the catalogue also serves as a guide and contains a free wheel pulley do’s & don’ts section to ensure they are removed and replaced with the necessary care to ensure their efficient operation.

Added value benefits of the catalogue include technical details and alternator connector plug drawings, plus vehicle images to ensure the correct selection for the relevant application is made. There is also an extensive cross reference section to maximise vehicle coverage.

Finally, the publication also contains details of the company’s returns acceptance criteria and its online warranty portal, which speeds up and simplifies the process in the unlikely event of a claim to the benefit of both supplying factor and installer.

Naturally the combined information is also available through industry electronic catalogues such as TecDoc and MAM Autocat.

Get into gear with First Line
The First Line Group (FLG) introduced its original Corsa C gear linkage in 2013 as it blazed the trail to provide the independent sector with access to this type of niche product, which had previously been considered as being available only from the franchised dealer.

FLG has now expanded the range with the addition of two more Vauxhall/Opel linkages, FKC3001 for the Corsa D and Adam and FKC3002 for the ASTRA G/H and Zafira. These new references, along with the original FKC3000, which also fits the Meriva A, all appear under FLG’s highly regarded First Line brand and as would be expected from a First Line component, are manufactured using premium quality materials, are zinc coated and incorporate upgraded plastics.

The original components are fitted to tens of thousands of vehicles throughout Europe and are renowned for their frequent and premature failure, generally because the plastic shift rod becomes loose as it wears and then pops out of the ball joints or due to wear to the nylon bushes in the link joints, which causes them to fail. Either way, these problems render the linkage inoperative and requires its replacement, which means there is a healthy market for these components.

Each comes as a complete replacement assembly, which is ready to fit and means that there is no need to go to the trouble of ordering the individual parts or through the complicated procedure of fitting each part within the linkage itself.

The complete application list and cross reference data is available via the FLG WebCat facility at www.firstlineltd.com but FKC3000 replaces GM part numbers 93183155/0758947/9201029 and is intended for Corsa C (2000-2006), Combo C (2001-2011), Meriva (2003-2010) and Tigra TwinTop (2004-2008).

FKC3001 replaces GM 93166811/1607320 for Corsa D (2006 onward) and Adam (2012 onward) and FKC3002 GM 90578183/758488 for Astra G (1998-2005), Astra H (2004 onward) and Zafira A (1998-2005).
