Champion® enhances its filter range

Federal-Mogul Motorparts, today announced the re-launch of its complete Champion® filter range. The re-designed products include new features, packaging and a catalogue to support the next generation of Champion filters which are already available in the aftermarket.

Champion has added more than 490 new filter products since 2014, resulting in over 1,300 Stock Keeping Units (SKU) across the entire filter range, which now covers more than 94% of the European vehicle park. This ensures Champion’s customers can get the correct product for the appropriate vehicle.

“Federal-Mogul engineers have redesigned the Champion fuel, air, oil and cabin filters to meet strict OE requirements and the evolving needs of new engine technologies,” says Sanda Kristicevic, Federal-Mogul Filters Product Manager. “Federal-Mogul Motorparts’ filters are tested to the current ISO standards and meet the requirements of the new Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines. The new Champion filter range has been improved and manufactured using the latest technologies, ensuring the products provide the quality, performance and ease of installation our customers expect. These new filters are already in production and available in the aftermarket.”

Champion offers high-performance filters for the latest engine generation, the main features and benefits of the range are:

• The latest Champion fuel filters for common rail diesel injection engines are made with a new multi-layer synthetic melt-blown media; this enables filtration up to 3 µm and has a water separation efficiency of up to 99.8%. Compared to traditional filters, the melt-blown media increases filter efficiency by up to 29.4% for contaminants of 5 µm or smaller.

• Champion oil filters are constructed with micro-fiber glass media; which is able to filtrate contaminates with increased efficiency compared to conventional filter media. The micro-fiber glass also reduces pressure losses by up to 50%, helping the Champion filters to last 2 - 4 times longer than conventional products.

Champion air filters are performing as the OE counterpart; with a similar efficiency collecting fine particles.

• Champion introduced the innovative Flexi Frame® technology to cabin filter products earlier this year, helping installers to fit the components without damaging or affecting its shape during installation. The carbon-activated components inside the media not only filter out dust but also toxic gasses coming from the exhaust.

The Champion fuel, air, cabin and oil filters are presented in new, interactive packaging that incorporates QR codes, enabling installers to easily identify the correct part number. The link also leads users to an installation video and detailed fitting instructions for cabin filters on the website’s catalogue, ensuring that parts are fitted quickly.
In February 2015, Champion launched its new catalogue for the full filters range which displays the brand’s new comprehensive part numbering structure, new layout and clear parts criteria. The online catalogue, which is continuously updated, can be found online at www.fmecat.eu.
