BMW 1-Series

BMW first attempted to crack the hatchback market in 1994 with the 3-Series Compact, but ultimately failed to compete with established rivals such as the VW Golf. However, since returning to the segment with the 1-Series in 2004, BMW has seen far greater success and the 1-Series has become one of the best-selling vehicles in Europe.
Whilst its styling continues to divide opinions, the 1-Series is superbly engineered and well-built. It may be the cheapest model in BMW’s line-up but there’s no denying that the 1-Series is still a quality product, with the current variant sharing over 60% of its componentry with its big brother, the E90 3-Series. There’s little doubt that the ‘baby beamer’ is a hugely significant model for the aftermarket.
