Confirms its motorsport programmes for 2016

Comma’s international and national motorsport programmes are to continue uninterrupted in 2016. Renewed Technical Partnerships with the DAMS GP2 and GP3 teams in France, plus the BRDC Formula 4 championship and the internationally renowned PalmerSport in the UK, will once again showcase the Comma brand in a climate of high technical excellence and competitive achievement that only motorsport can provide.

Based in Le Mans, France, DAMS is the team that carried Comma-sponsored Jolyon Palmer to the international GP2 drivers’ championship title in 2014, a record breaking performance that launched the Briton on his F1 career with the Renault team.

“It has been a great pleasure for DAMS to work with Comma for the past two years and we are very happy to be continuing our Technical Partnership with them in 2016. They have supplied high quality products and technical support across a wide spectrum to help us operate at the leading edge of our sport,” says DAMS spokesperson Francois Sicard.

In the UK, Comma has been Technical Partner and exclusive supplier of engine lubricants, coolants and maintenance chemicals to the BRDC Formula 4 championship since the inauguration of the series three years ago. Quickly establishing itself as the world’s best ‘prep school’ for young drivers aiming for a professional career leading to Formula 1, the 2015 BRDC Formula 4 championship was won by Comma-sponsored Will Palmer, younger brother to Jolyon and the son of former Formula 1 driver Jonathan, who established PalmerSport, the world’s best corporate driving experience 25 years ago. Lubricated, cooled and maintained exclusively with Comma products, the fleet of 100 race-prepared PalmerSport track cars collectively cover around 2 million miles a year on the outer limits of their performance capabilities, providing Comma with an unrivalled ‘real world’ test and proving ground for its products.

“We’re in motorsport for two compelling reasons,”
says Comma spokesperson Mike Bewsey. “First, it’s the most convincing way to validate and demonstrate the quality and performance of the products we sell to the aftermarket. If they can survive and thrive in that environment, technicians can have complete confidence in specifying them for the vehicles they service. And second, it just so happens that we’re all confirmed petrol-heads at Comma. We just love our motorsport!”
