Renews Ginetta Junior Scholarship Investment Until 2018

Ginetta is delighted to confirm the renewal of a professional partnership with car care giant Tetrosyl for a further three years. TJ Filters will be the new sponsor of the Ginetta Junior Scholarship car, driven by rising star Daniel Harper.

The fifteen-year-old from Hillsborough in Northern Ireland, won his place on the Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship grid at the Ginetta Junior Scholarship in October of last year. His inaugural year of sports car competition will see Daniel run as part of the Douglas Motorsport team in his distinctive black and orange liveried car.

TJ Filters is a sub brand of Quinton Hazell (QH), who were the backers of the 2016 car driven by Ginetta Junior Winter Series Champion Stuart Middleton. The multiple race winner will also be on hand to offer advice to Rookie driver Harper, who will become his teammate at Douglas Motorsport.

2016 will be the third year Tetrosyl have supported the Ginetta Junior Scholarship car. Prior to their investment in the Ginetta G40 driven by Stuart Middleton in 2016, Tetrosyl’s lubricant brand, Carlube, was the main sponsor of 2015 winner Alex Sedgewick’s car. Carlube oil is approved for use in all the Ginetta race cars and is the first fill oil.

Lawrence Tomlinson, Chairman of Ginetta Cars, said of the announcement: “We are delighted to continue our professional relationship with Tetrosyl. Both companies believe passionately in supporting the UK manufacturing industry and about constantly evolving our products. The Ginetta Junior Scholarship is just one of the ways in which we support driver progression and we are sure Daniel and TJ Filters will have a successful season together.”
Peter Schofield, Chairman of Tetrosyl, added: “The sponsorship builds on an already strong relationship between Ginetta and Tetrosyl. Carlube, which is owned by Tetrosyl, is the official oil supplier to the Ginetta race series. Tetrosyl shares a vision with Ginetta when it comes to keeping manufacturing firmly within the UK and, given our already strong links, we were eager to play an active role in the development of young driver talent.”

The first round of the Ginetta Junior Championship will take place at Brands Hatch on April 2/3 in support of the British Touring Car Championship. It will be shown live on ITV4.
