Cabin Filter Catalogue

A new catalogue, featuring 49 new references in an expanded range of over 800 micronAir cabin air filters, has been published by Corteco.

Cabin air filters for passenger cars built by BMW, Ford, JLR, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen/ Audi and Volvo are among a wide number of applications featured in the range for the first time. Specific models such as BMW X1 and X5, Ford S-Max and Galaxy, Land Rover Discovery Sport, VW Touran, Audi TT as well as Volvo V40 Hatchback, S60 II and V60 are among the vehicles now covered by the extended micronAir cabin air filter range.

Corteco is the aftermarket distribution arm of OE cabin filter manufacturer manufacturer Freudenberg. Nearly one in two of all new cars equipped with cabin air filtration are already fitted with Freudenberg micronAir® filters. Whether the choice is a premium cabin filter complete with activated carbon technology, or a particle only filter, the Corteco range is Europe's largest.

Comprehensive cross referencing, clever use of images, signs and symbols make product identification and selection easy. The catalogue also includes important product information and provides a focus on “Health, The Greatest Asset”. This is information that motor factors can use to promote more frequent replacement of cabin air filters at garage level.

Corteco says things that installers need to know include:

  • Cabin air filters provide protection for allergy and asthma sufferers against sneezing and watery eyes
  • A clogged cabin air filter can cause fogged windows and negatively influence the service life of air conditioning and heating systems
  • Cabin air filters ensure clean, fresh air inside the car, everyday
  • Carbon activated / combi cabin air filters keep the vehicle free from ozone and smells
  • A sneezing attack at a speed of 80 km/ph (50 m/ph) leads to 25 meters (27 yards) of ‘blind driving’

Corteco points out that it is not only exhaust emissions and industrial pollution that can significantly impair the health and well-being of vehicle occupants. Agricultural substances such as fertilizers and natural irritants such as ozone also have a negative impact on health.
