Receives Daimler Supplier Award 2016

Award for quality and high-end series production of MULTIBEAM LED headlamp

Lighting and electronics specialist HELLA has recently won the Daimler Supplier Award 2016 in the ‘Quality’ category. The annual Daimler awards select suppliers that have stood out, due to their outstanding performance and collaborative partnership. Members of Daimler AG board of director and the heads of purchasing departments, praised HELLA for its professional quality performance during the ramp-up phase of the innovative MULTIBEAM LED headlamp used in the new Mercedes E-Class, as well as its high quality series production.

Each MULTIBEAM LED headlamp consists of 84 LEDs arranged at three levels, which can be individually controlled, so the light distribution adjusts to traffic, weather and road conditions. In order to manufacture the innovative lighting technology to the required precision and quality, HELLA significantly invested in its Lippstadt production plant. The company also produces other versions of the headlamp in Slovakia and through a joint venture in China.
