Upgrades starter motor for Ford Transit

OE manufacturer of starter motors and alternators, Remy has announced an innovative improvement to the starter motor for the Ford Transit (2000-2007).

Remy’s engineering team has added a soft rubber protective cap to the starter motor in order to prevent clutch dust ingress from contaminating the shaft.

This has been known to result in catastrophic failure of the starter motor’s pinon/clutch assembly.

Historically, some mechanics have opted to replace the Transit starter with the cheapest available option under the assumption that clutch dust contamination will cause part failure regardless of quality.

With the introduction of this rubber cap, Remy say installers can now enjoy peace of mind in knowing that they are fitting a reliable, hard wearing and long lasting part.

Other applications include Ford Mondeo III, Jaguar X Type, LTI TX and Leyland DAF 2.4d.
