From September 2017: sales launch of the new MAHLE Original air conditioning compressors
In the future, MAHLE Aftermarket will offer a comprehensive portfolio of air conditioning compressors under the MAHLE Original brand. This is underpinned by the expertise and experience of the technology partner for all vehicle manufacturers in the area of thermal management.
AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR: THE HEART OF AIR CONDITIONING
The air conditioning compressor is the core component of vehicle air conditioning and is usually driven by the vehicle engine via a V-ribbed belt. It compresses the gaseous refrigerant and forwards it to the condenser, where the compressed gas loses pressure and cools down. Proper compressor functioning guarantees an optimal temperature in the cabin.
VITALLY IMPORTANT: MAINTAINING THE AIR CONDITIONING CIRCUIT
The air conditioning compressor is designed to be a “lifetime component”. However, insufficient or incorrect maintenance of the air conditioning circuit can lead to compressor damage.
Penetrating moisture or a lack of oil can then damage the air conditioning compressor. This not only causes disturbing noises, but also reduces the cooling capacity and can even cause the HVAC system to break down completely, requiring the air conditioning
compressor to be replaced.
