50% of vehicles are fitted with Dual Mass Flywheels (DMF) or Damped Flywheel Clutches (DFC). These are essential components that not only provide an enhanced level of driveability but also reduce harmful torsional vibration that would otherwise be transmitted into the gearbox and driveline

To help determine whether the DMF needs replacing with the clutch, LuK have a DMF special tool which measures the two most basic functions to provide accurate measurements. It comes complete with all components required to test the DMF - including an instructional CD and measures the radial and lateral movement of the two DMF components. 

When used with the tolerance data found in the LuK DMF CheckPoint app, or at www.repxpert.co.uk the LuK DMF tool is the best way of measuring the operating status of a dual mass flywheel whilst mounted to vehicle with the gearbox removed.

Upon installing this, it is important to always observe the specifications of the vehicle manufacturer. Due to limited FPS stock holding of the Luk DMF tool, special orders can be placed with the supplier on request.
