New Micro-V Kit Packaging

To further increase support to the automotive aftermarket, Gates have developed a new packaging approach for Accessory Belt Drive System (ABDS) Kits. Adding 3 new types of boxes to the currently used Micro-V® Kit packaging has many benefits for both distributors and retailers alike.

GETTING RID OF IDLE SPACE
Using a variety of packaging sizes ensures that our Micro-V® Kits don’t take up more space than necessary. That’s not only beneficial in terms of shelf space and handling costs in your warehouse, but it also makes shipping and distribution more efficient. With the optimised packaging approach, more SKUs fit on a pallet and in a trailer, which leads to significant savings in shipping and warehousing costs.

 BETTER PROTECTED PRODUCT
The more a product can move around inside the carton during transport and handling, the greater the risk for potential damage. By meticulously matching the size of the box to its contents, the packaging provides better protective properties of the products inside.

LOWERING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT TOGETHER
The most effective way to reduce waste is to not create it in the first place. By making our packaging smaller we help to reduce cardboard wastage. The increased pallet efficiency also makes sure more boxes can fit in a truck. This optimises transportation, reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Also customer satisfaction will increase, as our end-users don’t want to have to throw away over-sized boxes sent with them.

FREE UP VALUABLE WAREHOUSE SPACE

A small change in a packaging design can significantly optimise warehouse space and reduce costs and wastage across the distribution channel.
