Data overhaul brings benefits to motor factors
WAIglobal UK is completely overhauling its parts data information, resulting in enhanced vehicle part coverage from its 5500 part numbers.
With the implementation of a new computer system, WAI took the opportunity more than 18months ago to undertake a major gap analysis exercise on its rotating electrics range and work remains ongoing, along with significant focus on its expanding window regulators range.
As a result, the UK’s leading auto electrical supplier has increased its vehicle parc coverage from its existing 5500 part numbers, while the number of technical queries has significantly decreased.
Richard Welland, managing director - EMEA IAM VP Global Marketing, said: “It’s been a long but necessary process and one that now becomes much easier ongoing. Our range has grown to be one of the largest in the UK and we have invested heavily to ensure the data behind it is the most accurate and reliable in the UK aftermarket.”
Both MAM and TecDoc cataloguing systems are all seamlessly updated with the latest information as and when it occurs.
And, with new to range part numbers, WAI now lists new to range parts according to its traffic light system whereby if the product is marked as green then it has been labelled as fast-moving and therefore distributors are recommended to stock the product.
But, if the product is marked amber WAI recommends stocking it in a central warehouse, and if it is marked red then customers can rest assured that the supplier will have the part in stock should the distributor require next-day delivery.
