Winter Reminder

The freezing temperatures and poor road conditions brought on by winter tend to exacerbate spring problems.

Colder weather affects the tensile strength of springs. Thus, increasing the likelihood of breakage.

Grit salt used for roads mixes with surface water to form an abrasive paste. This wears the paint off springs, exposing any microscopic cracks to the elements, which can also lead to breakage.

Winter also tends to be a season for worsening road conditions and more potholes. Driving into potholes and uneven road tend to weaken spring material with each impact.
