Reliable rust protection with Waxoyl

Winter showers and salted roads can wreak havoc on a vehicle’s chassis. Waxoyl shares some key tips to ensure proper application and optimum rust protection.

As spring time approaches, restoration products such as Waxoyl tend to present a strong opportunity to motor factors as car enthusiasts add finishing touches to their automotive pride and joy. Waxoyl protects vehicles from rust damage. By creating a barrier on bare metal against contact water and air, Waxoyl prevents rust formation. It also slows any existing surface rust by using rust inhibitors.

To ensure that the user gets the best out of a Waxoyl treatment, it is important to keep the following tips in mind:

CHECK THE WEATHER

As moisture is one of the key causes of rust, it is advisable to carry out a Waxoyl treatment during a dry day.

A THOROUGH CLEAN

This is essentially ‘step 1’ towards a successful Waxoyl application. If the vehicle has not been undersealed or treated previously, it is important to clean any loose/residual evidence of rust or dirt with a wire brush. By doing this, it minimises the amount of rust that Waxoyl has to work on.

LET IT DRY

Allow the car a sufficient amount of time to dry after cleaning and before applying the Waxoyl treatment.

KEEP THINGS WARM WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE

Waxoyl tends to spray better when it is not cold. By soaking the tin in reasonably warm water (approx. 20°C) for about 5 minutes it gently warms the fluid, making it easier to spray.
