Announce details of next Industry Briefing in March
The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has announced that the next Industry Briefing Session will be held at Phocas Business Intelligence Software, Middlemarch Business Park, Coventry on Thursday 15 March.
Guest speakers will include Joel Combes and Nona Bowkis from Lawgistics discussing General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into effect on 25 May, who will be advising independent business owners on how to act to ensure they are GDPR compliant.
Steve Carter from Train4auto Consultancy will also be attending as guest speaker, presenting a talk on ‘2018 - the year the EV became a reality’, addressing the hot topic of hybrid electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel-cell technology.
Members will also be brought up-to-date on current industry issues, including the latest developments with the connected car, type approval legislation and the recent scrapping of proposed MOT changes.
IAAF Membership Development Manager Mike Smallbone said: “Particularly with all the industry developments that have occurred over the past few weeks, we’re expecting a high turnout at next month’s briefing, with lots on the agenda to incite lively engagement among our members.
“Steve’s discussion on EV technology promises to be an extremely interesting one, and Lawgistics’ presentation addresses a vitally important subject that will affect all aftermarket businesses in the coming months, so it’s crucial that business owners have systems in place and that employees have a good understanding of how to treat personal data.”
The session will begin at 10.00 am offering the chance to network over a coffee, before finishing at 1.00 pm with lunch.
As limited spaces are available, IAAF is advising members to book early to avoid disappointment by emailing Ann Silvester at [email protected]
