Firsrt Female Racing Ambassador
Each year Morris Lubricants are proud to support a wide variety of amateur, semi-professional and professional motor sport activities across the UK and internationally. From rallying to motocross we have hundreds of individuals using Morris Lubricants products in the most competitive and demanding of applications.
With a background in everything from national rallying to the British truck racing, as a company are keen to support up-and-coming British talent.
With this in mind we were on a mission when we attended Autosport at the NEC in January to find the best ambassadors for the Morris Lubricants MLR Programme and to be honest I don’t think we’ve done too bad a job.
This year for the first time ever they have appointed a female racing ambassador, Rebecca Jackson who is not only a racing driver but also a British television presenter, entrepreneur and motoring journalist. Rebecca has a pretty full on year racing in 2 championships, one petrol and one electric, writing a weekly Telegraph column, starring in 2 TV series ( Dave and CBBC) and working with the Princes Trust.
Rebecca will be competing in the FIA Electric Production Car Series and she is really looking forward to working here at Morris Lubricants. Morris will be supporting Rebecca during her season in the Tesla Model P100D.
Rebecca is very excited about this partnership and is looking forward to the first race in France in November. She says: “I’m so pleased to have Morris Lubricants on board as they’ve been supporting British motorsport for a number of years. I’ve got no doubt we’re going to do fantastic things together.”
Alongside her efforts in the Electric Production Car Series, Rebecca will also be competing in another championship, which will be announced soon, so watch this space. Throughout her racing schedule, she’ll be working closely with Morris Lubricants to promote the brand in the UK and beyond.
Morris Lubricants launched its successful Morris Lubricants Racing (MLR) programme in 2016 to support all levels of British motorsport and promote the company’s superior quality oils and lubricants. In 2018, we re-opened the MLR programme to applicants at Autosport International at the NEC, Birmingham. We had more than 400 applications from talented drivers and riders, who provided details about themselves, their racing credentials and their ambition.
Gina Hinde, Marketing Manager at Morris, is really pleased to have Rebecca on board. She says: “We see Rebecca as a fantastic ambassador for Morris Lubricants. 2018 is definitely going to be a strong year for women, which will bring significant step-changes towards equality and we hope that motorsport will follow this progression. Rebecca has proved herself as a very talented driver and that she can mix it up with the best of them.
“She is not only a great ambassador for the company but for people of all backgrounds in motorsport.”
Watch out for more MLR Ambassador news in the coming weeks!
