Did you know that you can order wiper motors and suspension spheres from FPS?

Wiper motors have a hard life, especially during winter as busy motorists insist on trying to use wipers that are iced up, or try to clear windscreens of ice and snow using their wipers. These activities put a strain on the motors which will eventually fail.
Additional reasons for failure include:
• Lack of use causing the mechanism to lock up
• High loads which require extra torque can burn out the motor
• Corrosion
• Age
Valeo wiper motors are fitted to 1 in 3 European cars at OE, so the launch of an aftermarket range gives motor factors the opportunity to grab business that has been enjoyed almost exclusively by main dealers.
FPS lists wiper motors for popular applications, including Renault Megane (02-09), Mini Cooper (10>) and Peugeot 206 (05>).
A number of Febi Bilstein wiper motor references are also available from FPS.
SUSPENSION SPHERES
Suspension spheres are an integral part of the hydropneumatic suspension system, which replaces shocks and springs with a system of 5-6 fluid and gas filled spheres. The system works on the principle that gas can be compressed (hence it acts as a spring) while the fluid cannot (making it act as a damper). Fluid is added or removed from each sphere to allow load levelling, anti-roll and damping of everyday humps and bumps in the road.
The system also utilises a pump and a series of sensors which monitor the road surface and driving style in order to adapt the hydraulic damping accordingly to conditions.
Traditionally associated with Citroën, who developed the system in the 1950s, this type of suspension system has also been used by many other vehicle manufacturers, including BMW, Mercedes and Volkswagen.
