A Win and Top Points at Thruxton

Last weekend 14th & 15th June, Stuart and his team were once again in action this time at the high speed Thruxton circuit in Hampshire. As forecasted the hot sunny weather did not disappoint the large crowd of spectators that went to watch the heavy weight high speed action.

From the very start of the first of the five races it was clear that the crowds were in for a spectacular weekend, Stuart started the first race from the middle of the grid as expected the first time going into the complex for the trucks would be interesting sure enough it was! Fortunately when the dust settled Stuart was seen to be up into second position, following a hard battle for the whole duration of the race Stuart emerged over the finish line still in second place.

During races two, three and four Stuart had to work hard around all the high speed circuit to keep in and among the higher powered machines, but with a good truck set-up and Stuart’s ability to hold off the charging trucks from behind he managed to secure two fifth place finishes with a third place podium finish in between.

Race five, the last race of the weekend is always the race the drivers and teams aspire to win if only to finish the weekend on a high. Stuart was to start the race from the outside of row two. This is not the place to be at this circuit mainly due to the fast first right turn. Without delay when the flag dropped Stuart was out and alongside the front row trucks, after a fierce first lap battle Stuart came over the line in second place and by lap three he was in front and in control of the race after surviving some very hard charges from behind he managed to hold the lead to the chequered flag and win the race !

It emerged that Stuart and the team had a bonus to the final race win, they had also scored the highest combined amount of points over the weekend.

Stuart and the team were delighted with the weekend’s results and are looking forward to the next championship outing at the Nurburgring in Germany
