Exclusive OE insight inspires aftermarket factors
An exclusive insight for Business Development Managers of UAN into the sophisticated production processes involved in original equipment parts manufacture at the MAHLE Group’s Telford filtration plant was arranged recently by MAHLE Aftermarket.
Focusing on what it means to be OE standard in terms of R&D, systems, resources, investments, strict controls, measures and targets, the filtration supplier was able to clearly demonstrate to the UAN BDMs how products heading for the aftermarket are

manufactured in exactly the same conditions and processes as OE level parts.
Specific attention was paid to the popular Ford/Volvo/Mazda Air Filter LX1780, where the engineering challenges and manufacturing processes supporting this MAHLE patented part were fully explained namely: assuring maximum efficiencies and dust holding capacity and the most important accurate MAF sensor control function.
Hosting the Telford visit, Jonathan Walker, Managing Director of MAHLE Aftermarket Ltd near Wolverhampton, explained: “OE manufacture and supply to the aftermarket actually means OE. With less than 20 miles separating our major UK OE manufacturing facility in Telford and our aftermarket base, the opportunities and benefits could not be better”.
