Expands Warranty Portal

As part of a co-ordinated campaign to develop its use of electronic system processing, the First Line Group (FLG) has extended its existing warranty portal which was initially introduced for its Borg & Beck clutch programme. It will now incorporate its starters, alternators and freewheeling pulleys in the Borg & Beck rotating electrics programme.

The portal has distinct benefits for the company’s direct customers as well as the workshops they serve, as it simplifies, speeds up and provides a virtually paper-free route through the often time consuming process of dealing with a warranty claim.

Accessed from the Borg & Beck home page (www.borgandbeck.com), users simply need to click on Warranty Claim. After adding the usual vehicle details (registration and the mileage) and a description of the claim, simply upload an image of the claim from a digital camera or smart phone.

Once the claim is entered into the system and the automatically generated acknowledgement of the claim is sent back to the user, FLG commit that the claim will be assessed within just five working days. On occasion however, the component will need to be returned to FLG for further analysis, but should this be the case, the complete claim will still be processed and resolved within 10 working days of receipt.

After the claim has been settled, FLG will require the component subject to the claim to be returned for further analysis. This will allow the technical team to assess whether there is an underlying problem with the component and whether there is a need to consider a fundamental product review.
