80 new to range gas springs

have been recently added to the Kilen range and as gas spring failures increase due to problems caused by cold temperatures, this is the ideal opportunity to increase awareness on the range.

Kilen gas springs are manufactured to OE specifications and supplied with fitting kits for ease of installation. There are 1,500 different parts in range for a variety of European and Asian applications.

Of these new 80 parts, a few of the key applications covered are:

422081 - GAS SPRING (REAR) - FORD Focus 2.0 TDCi 163 MK 3: 2011 ->

466080 - GAS SPRING (REAR) - VOLKSWAGEN Passat 1.4 TSI 122: 2010 ->

416064 - GAS SPRING (REAR) - CITROEN C4 2.0 HDi 150: 2011 ->

A suggestion for Gear Change Rods was received from an FPS Southampton customer. A new supplier was sourced and a range of 21 gear change rods and 6 gear lever bush kits has been launched.

Gear change rods and gear lever bush kits are available in both plastic and metal, depending on the OE specification. The gear change rods are typically supplied as a narrow gauge rod with either a bushed end or an open knuckle joint that gets worn out with age. Gear change rods can be 2 or even 3 different types or lengths on the same vehicle, while, on most vehicle applications, only a single gear lever bush kit is required per vehicle.

Over time, the bushed ends or knuckle joints wear. This is particularly evident on French-manufactured vehicles, where the system contains more parts, which increases the possibility of failure. Symptoms can include a difficulty in selecting gears when the gear lever becomes floppy or loose.
MAM Autocat + applications are being continually developed and will be visible as soon as they have been switched on by the supplier later on in the year. The parts are all catalogued on TecDoc with OE numbers loaded to the FPS system to aid finding the correct part for customers in the short term.
