Update February 2015

Following a recent Autocat+ development carried out between FPS and MAM, customers no longer have to set preferences to FPS catalogue sections for every new product range being launched.

Each customer will simply need to apply a single setting once, and all current and future FPS sections will be automatically set to 'Preference 2' on that customer's Autocat+ system.

To apply this change, customers will need to update to the latest version of Autocat+ by pressing F12, then F11 and the prompts that follow. Once updated, they'll need to click the 'General/6' button and select 'Parameter Maintenance'. After entering their password, they'll just need to tick the box marked 'Set all FPS data sections to Preference level 2' and click 'Update'.This will immediately apply the customer's preferences for all FPS sections to 2, and ensure any new FPS sections introduced in future will also be set to 'Preference 2' automatically.

These provide a great way of seeing other products available through FPS, including many gap-filling ranges and unique and niche suppliers that might otherwise be difficult for our customers to find.

FPS are launching a new range of clutch hydraulics from FTE, the range consists of 36 unique products new to the FPS portfolio – inclusive of Clutch Master Cylinders, Concentric Slave Cylinders and Clutch Slave Cylinders.

As part of the Unique & Niche project, 2 Bulb Holders for Ford Transit have been launched - 1102440-O and 1681537-A.

A bulb holder is a part that should be relatively maintenance free, but problems will occur when bulbs are changed incorrectly (wrong fitting), cracked or damaged lenses can cause water ingress, damaged fitting clips and connector pins. This usually causes major corrosion issues and erratic flashing occurs with the other lamps on the vehicle usually due to bad earth or wrong wattage bulbs.

As these are fitted to the most popular working vehicle, the Transit, it takes plenty of bumps and scrapes. Bulb holders are not normally sold as a separate item; they are a fraction of the cost of a new replacement lamp and are easy to fit.
