Taking only marginally longer than the walk from one end of the show to the other, Comline comrades Malcolm Rosher and Jonathan Ward completed their epic 800 km charity cycle ride from Comline headquarters in Luton, UK, to Frankfurt, Germany, in just under five and half days.
They arrived just in time grab their cushions, don their suits and cycle through the South gate of the Festhalle to take their respective places on the Comline and Allied Nippon - Comline’s associated braking brand – stands for Automechanika 2010.
Raising £5000 for the UK’s Motor Trade Benevolent Charity (BEN), which will be presented at the BEN ball in London, in December, marketing and sales director, Malcolm, 54, cycled in the Comline colours of blue and yellow, whilst Jonathan represented Allied Nippon in its blue and white.
Malcolm commented: “We would like to thank everyone for their generous support – and to remind those of you who haven’t yet donated, that there is still time! The trip certainly had its comical moments. As we were traveling unaccompanied, we got lost on occasions and Jonathan fell off his bike a couple of times – which was amusing until it happened to my good self, actually in the Festhalle in front of hundreds of visitors…they do say pride comes before a fall.
