Visitor attendance exceed predictions

Close to 21,000 visitors attended the 2016 Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC, according to official figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC).

The independent audit confirmed that 20,965 people visited the CV Show during the three open days in April, representing an increase of almost 6% on the previous year’s attendance figure.

As well as the higher footfall, several exhibitors have reported that visitor quality at this year’s Show was the best they had ever experienced; a clear sign that the CV Show remains the essential UK event for those moving goods by road, and continues to merit its reputation as the best opportunity there is to come face to face with decision makers from across the road transport sector.

Visitors came to CV Show 2016 from all over the UK and beyond, with highly influential and authoritative figures from within the haulage and logistics industry among the attendees. The Show also attracted visitors from other industry sectors where running commercial vehicles is essential to the provision of their services.

2016 was the most successful year yet for the official CV Show social media feeds.

This year saw the launch of an official CV Show LinkedIn page, while a Periscope live video feed was successful trialled during the show, with 64 people watching the Citroen Dispatch launch live.

Twitter and Facebook channels received a staggering 2,693 messages during Show week, and had a potential reach of more than 1.3 million people. The account engagement was measured at 94% during the exhibition, an increase on the award-winning result of 92% achieved during last year’s Show.

However, the real highlight of the 2016 show was the official hashtag #CVShow, which ended up trending as the second most popular topic on Twitter in the UK and Ireland on Day One and still held third place on Day Two.
