The latest addition to FPS’ powertrain offering

In order to strengthen its product offering, FPS has recently introduced QRS into its components portfolio. QRS provides competitively priced power transmission solutions designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications.

The new range of belts and OAP/OADs sits alongside FPS’ current premium power transmission offering, providing customers with an entry level solution and ultimately more choice. While FPS continues to support and encourage investment in its key Tier One suppliers, in a varying market which is ever changing, QRS represents an additional opportunity by providing a cost effective solution for price conscious customers. To satisfy this increasing demand for choice, FPS has recently introduced a range of timing belts and OAPs/OADs from QRS, and will be launching multi-ribbed v belts shortly.

Both ranges have been developed to reflect the latest trends in the market. A short range of fast moving references will be available covering over 45% of the UK car parc, focusing on popular applications. A quality belt is essential for the correct workings of the accessory and timing belt systems. If the quality of the belt is compromised and the timing belt breaks, this can result in severe and costly engine damage. If the accessory belt fails, power will be lost to all driven units and it is
likely that the power steering will become heavy, ultimately leading to unsafe driving situations. That’s why QRS recommends, when servicing a vehicle, that both belts are inspected and replaced at the first signs of wear in order to prevent
unnecessary failures.

When replacing the timing  or multi-ribbed v belt, it is therefore important that a quality, reliable belt is selected. When choosing QRS, customers can rest assured that they are receiving a belt manufactured to meet or exceed OEM specifications, ensuring the smooth running of the belt systems. Composed of durable and reinforced rubber compounds, QRS timing belts are guaranteed to withstand the highest temperatures and impact produced by the car engine. Helically wound, fibreglass tensile cords increase the flexibility and stability of the belt, making  it suitable for use on both older and more modern, compact engines which are working under increased pressures. This compound structure also prevents the belt from stretching. QRS’ multi-ribbed v belts are comprised of a fibre-reinforced EPDM compound which guarantees optimum performance under extreme engine temperatures. This compound also dampens the noise of the system, ensuring silent running. As with its timing belts, QRS multi-ribbed v belts offer great flexibility and optimal belt-to-pulley contact, making them suitable for all engine types.
