Lighting leaders launch two new families of LED Inspection Lamps

Ring Inspection Lamps have long been a favourite of many mechanics and motoring enthusiasts up and down the country. As one of the first companies to bring LED technology to Inspection Lamps, Ring are synonymous with innovation, using the latest technology to develop workshop tools which can be relied upon for being both durable and efficient.

Shining a light on the needs of the mechanic, Ring has grouped its lamps into two distinctive collections. The Mag Flex and Ergo ranges have both been developed to include the latest innovations in LED technology. In line with market demand they offer ‘hands free’ operation to assist with a multitude of tasks.

The MAGFlex Range


The MAGFlex range, (MAGFlex, MAGFlex Twist and MAGFlex UV) is ultimately designed for hands free usage, providing the ability to position light where it is required without any fuss. The MAGFlex collection are essential tools which provide the user with a consistent and flexible light source for working in any environment.

New to the range is the MAGFlex Twist. It features a strong and robust polycarbonate and ABS construction, as well as a positioning mechanism which allows the lamp to rotate 360 degrees as well as 180 degree ratcheting.

The MAGFlex UV replaces the existing Ring inspection lamp the RIL3100 and now uses new Strip LED technology to provide a light output of 440 lumens. This is the best light output yet from a Ring Inspection Lamp, which when combined with an optical lens provides the ultimate wide angle illumination to make working in poorly lit environments easy. As suggested by it’s name the MAGFlex UV incorporates a high power LED torch function and 6 x LED UV lamp which will pick up fluorescent dyes used to detect leaks.

Completing the range is the MAGFlex (RIL4000). This is an existing award winning lamp that has had a face-lift to mark it as a professional quality Ring product and make sure it is easily visible if left on an engine bay.

All three inspection lamps in the MAGFlex range are both rechargeable and cordless containing Lithium-ion batteries for faster, consistent recharging. In addition all 3 models feature a ratchet mechanism, magnet and integral hanging hooks to allow for multi positioning and directional light for totally hands free working.

The Ergo Range


The Ergo range comprises of 3 existing models (Ergo, Ergo Robust and Ergo UV), which have all been designed to be lightweight and ergonomic. All three lamps are designed to be comfortable to hold, have a robust design and light output from a COB LED to give better visability in the workshop environment. All three models have been redesigned so they look part of the family.

All three inspection lamps in the Ergo range contain Lithium-ion batteries for faster, consistent recharging and use a cob LED and precision reflector which boasts a wide angle light output 3 x brighter than the equivalent standard LED lamp.

All are rechargeable and cordless meaning they can be used without restriction and all include a magnet and belt clip to allow for hands free working and portability.One of the most important features of the Ergo Robust is its IK rating of 10, which has been independently tested and categorised as virtually indestructible. Such a high rating means its construction is of the highest standard and more than equipped to withstand the knocks, wear and tear that are inevitable in a workshop or garage environment.
