Gates is introducing 33 new Overrunning Alternator Pulleys (OAP) to its Auxiliary belt drive system (ABDS) range.

The move increases Gates market strength, with 125 OAP products, covering 280 different car models across all marques.

OAPS not only absorb vibrations and speed fluctuations in the system, they also allow the use of alternators with increased power output, reduce the influence of the alternator mass on the belt drive, decrease wear and tear on all belt drive components and increase the life span of all auxiliary belt drive components.

The latest OAPs will cover some of the most popular models such as Citroën Xsara Picasso 2L HDi; Honda Civic 2.2L i-CTDi; Mini Cooper 1.6L; Hyundai Getz 1.5L CRDi; Volvo V70 2.4L TDi; Toyota Yaris 1.4L D4d; Fiat Bravo 1.4L T-Jet; Opel/Vauxhall Astra 1.3L CDTi; Alfa Romeo 1.8L; Volvo S60 2L Turbo and many more.

Robbie De Moor, Gates aftermarket product manager ABDS metals and kits, says this latest development is a significant move and confirms Gates position as an ABDS specialist:

‘We are a true one-stop-shop. Alongside OAPs, Gates ABDS range includes TVDs, tensioners, idlers and Micro-V® belts. With over 2,300 products, Gates is the leading ABDS supplier in the market. In addition to the largest product range for all wear and tear parts, we also deliver technical support for a complete overhaul of the drive system.' This includes online Technical Bulletins, routing diagrams and tools.
