GM has announced it is to retain the ACDelco independent aftermarket business and declared its intention to continue operating and supporting it moving forward. The news comes in the wake of the ACDelco operation having been put under strategic review last October as part of GM’s asset sales strategy.

Willi Fey, Director Independent Aftermarket – ACDelco Europe, said: “Over the past few months we have been in active discussions with potential buyers, and whilst several parties expressed a significant interest in the business, it became obvious that the value of the ACDelco brand represents a tremendous opportunity. As such, GM has decided it would be more beneficial to continue with the business in its portfolio.

“Given this news, it is our intention to continue to put our full energy behind an ongoing growth strategy for ACDelco in Europe as a means of maximising the value that this great brand offers to both General Motors and its customers,” he added.
