A new era has begun at AMK
with all employees united behind Managing Director Alan Griffiths and excited about the changes that lie ahead.
Alan Griffiths took control of the company after acquiring ownership late last year from the OSL Group agreeing to take it back as a stand-alone company from the group it was sold to seven years ago.
Alan Griffiths said, “AMK has always been a respected company with a reputation of being at the forefront of supplying quality remanufactured products and with the expertise and guidance gained from those in the OSL Group, as a company we are well equipped to control our own destiny within the aftermarket.”
Changes in the company structure are now complete and the ‘new’ AMK re-branding is nearing fruition. The aftermarket will see these very shortly, which include a brand new company logo, a complete redesign of all AMK packaging. All depots and vehicles will also enjoy a new facelift, as well as staff clothing etc.
AMK’s Sales & Marketing Director Simon Salloway added, “We have discussed our forward thinking and future plans in-house, which was extended to all members of staff and indeed with several of our most influential customers and the positive feedback we’ve had demonstrates that we are definitely moving in the right direction. It’s a poignant time for AMK and our industry and we are convinced that the substantial investment being made in both branding and the service offered will be fortuitous to our company and just as important – our customers.”
AMK has been servicing the aftermarket with great success for over 20 years, but as the most accomplished of companies have found, it too needs to evolve with the ever-changing markets to ensure that it can meet the needs and requirements of its customers and the industry as a whole.
New products being introduced into the AMK range include the imminent launch of steering columns and the exclusive UK distribution of Sidem branded steering & suspension products. Lucas rotating electrics have now extended their range to include new ‘stop and start’ references, all of which have huge growth potential.
J-Tech HPI is another partnership AMK values and is one of only two companies in the UK to be able to offer the UK aftermarket 3rd generation electric pumps pre-programmed to the vehicle ECU, creating the ultimate ‘plug and play’ pump. AMK stock ‘ready-to-fit’ OEM electric pumps with a warranty of 12 months or 12,000 miles.
Quality has always been of great importance and at the foundation of AMK’s product offering and that is why they are associated with companies and brands such as Lucas, J-Tech HPI and Sidem.
Simon Salloway said, “There is no doubt that you get what you pay for. It would be fair to say that AMK is not alone in being worried about the quality of some products, which are being distributed in our industry. This could have a catastrophic reaction if requirements for inferior cheaper priced products continue, as only one thing happens and that is; the quality declines and the entire aftermarket could be the losers.”
AMK currently has a six-branch network and a further one in Bristol is about to open. Bristol will be specifically used for core collection as the company recognises that investment to aid this integral and vital part of AMK’s service offering is vital.
