IMPORTANT PRODUCT NOTIFICATION , RECALL

It came to our attention yesterday that we have an error in our coil spring catalogue which has potentially serious safety implications.

We list the above part number for the rear of a Vauxhall , Opel Vectra (for which it is correct) and as a rear heavy duty spring for a Vauxhall ,Opel Zafira for which it is wrong.

We have advised all the electronic catalogue data providers we work with to remove the Zafira listing from this part number and they are doing so. Any hard copy catalogues we issue from now onwards will have this number removed against the Zafira and we request that you delete this part from any hard copy catalogues you have. To be totally clear, the part is absolutely correct for the Vectra, and the issue is only with the Zafira listing.

We are confident that the vast majority of sales under this part number will have been fitted to the Vectra. Given, however, that the spring is too short for the Zafira and may come loose should the suspension open to rebound, we see the safety implications as significant and request that you review your sales of this part, recalling any supplied for Zafira's since November 2009 (when we first listed the part for the Zafira). We will of course take the costs associated with this recall.

A new heavy duty spring for the Zafira is now being designed and will be available within two to three weeks. We will advise the new part number to you, and all electronic data providers,
