Automechanika 2012 has proven to be as successful as previous shows according to Friction material manufacturing giant TMD Friction, showcasing for the first time the new TMD Friction Nisshinbo corporate identity.

Technological advancements in electronic cataloguing utilising an upgraded version of the existing Brakebook were also on display along with the very latest VRM lookup for the UK and Ireland markets which is to be launched very shortly.

The Mintex car and light commercial catalogue was also officially launched for 2013, including over 850 new references from the Mintex braking range. This latest publication exceeds 2,000 pages and is full of all the very latest vehicle applications on today’s roads.

So what does the future hold for TMD? Simon Bradley, Marketing Manager adds: “We are working, right now, with revolutionary new friction technologies designed to tackle the environmental challenges that face the world. Kinetic Energy Recovery (KERS) technology enables energy released through friction to be recovered and re-used by the vehicle, offering the potential for significant efficiency and performance gains. Similarly, using a specially developed technology – regenerative friction – the brake pad can reclaim its own friction material from the brake disc. Thus reducing, dramatically, brake dust, improving the lifespan of the pads whilst enabling greater fuel efficiency along with the significant environmental benefits – stopping the world safely has always been TMD Friction’s philosophy now we can add ecologically to that ideal.”
