Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship showcases new look at HRCR Open Day on January 12th.
The Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship starts the run up to the 2013 season at the Historic Rally Car Register’s Open Day on 12th January with an exhibition that will showcase the new-look, compact series.
The exhibition at the Heritage Motor Centre near Gaydon in Warwickshire, is designed specifically to encourage visitors to come and find out what the championship and the supporting HRCR Old Stager Clubman’s Challenge has to offer ahead of the opening round in March.
The BHRC stand will feature a display of rally cars including Julian Reynolds’s 2012 title winning Ford Escort Mk1, giving a flavour of the different types of machinery that compete regularly in the championship. Members of the BHRC organising committee and competitors will be on hand to provide full details of the eight-round series and answer any questions. Intending competitors will be able to get advice on building cars to MSA Historic Regulations and can also register for the championship on the day. In addition, representatives from all the counting rounds – including the new-for-2013 Jim Clark Rally and Rallye Sunseeker - plus series sponsors and tyre suppliers will be available to discuss competitors’ requirements.
“The Mintex BHRC has a lot to offer and the Open Day at Gaydon is our earliest opportunity to showcase it,” says BHRC Chairman David Lucas. “The 2013 regulations are nearing final approval by the Motor Sports Association so we can press ahead with our plans to offer a top quality, value for money championship.”
Simon Bradley, Marketing Manager at main sponsor TMD Friction (Mintex) adds: “Being at the launch of this event means we get to be hands on from the word go. We’re very honoured to be able to showcase our brand which spans the majority of roadworthy vehicles on the road today – including some of those taking part in the championship.”
The HRCR Open Day starts at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday 12th January at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire. The HMC is situated near Junction 12 of the M40.
The opening round of the Mintex MSA British Historic Championship is the Mid Wales Stages Rally, based at Newtown, Powys, on Sunday March 3rd.
