Johnson Controls has added two new VARTA® batteries for Start-Stop vehicles to its premium quality Trio range, and has launched a nationwide competition for its UK distribution network geared to the 2014 World Cup.

With 70% of all newly registered vehicles to feature Start-Stop systems by 2015, the battery manufacturer believes this development will have an enormous impact on battery distributors and retailers’ businesses. The addition of VARTA Blue Dynamic EFB and Silver Dynamic AGM batteries to the aftermarket Trio range will gauarantee that battery specialists will always be able to provide the perfect product to exactly meet all performance requirements.

The Blue Dynamic EFB battery offers twice the cycle life of a conventional car battery. Featuring enhanced flooded technology and reinforced design, it is designed specifically for vehicles with Start-Stop, plus other heavy electric consuming accessories such as heated seats, air conditioning and parking assistance.

Now topping the VARTA Trio range, the Silver Dynamic’s AGM technology is designed to support the most demanding Start-Stop systems with regenerative braking, and premium-equipped models with huge energy demands. It offers three times the cycle life of a conventional battery.

Supporting the range extension is the VARTA Battery Championship promotion, which runs until 14th July. The competition is built around a new online training programme, enabling VARTA independent garages to increase battery sales and earn points for every training module they participate in and every battery fitted, with the chance to win prizes.

Prizes will be awarded continually throughout the promotion, and garages can also win prizes by taking part in the Workshop of the Month competition.

A free VARTA Battery Finder App is now available to help stockists and workshops find the right battery for a particular model conventiently and simply just by entering the vehicle registration.
