32 of the most popular Nissens receiver dryers are now available.
The receiver dryer is a filtering unit located on the high-pressure side of the AC loop between the condenser and the expansion valve. The role of the receiver dryer is to filter the particles and debris that flows throughout the circuit as well as absorbing moisture; it also stores oil and refrigerant.
The receiver dryer must be replaced every two years or whenever the circuit has been opened.
The inside filter and desiccant layers can be worn out after long periods, and will cause the receiver dryer to lose its ability to properly filter the refrigerant and oil passing through.
The condition of the receiver dryer is crucial for the compressor, as high levels of moisture in the AC system can cause corrosion and reduce compressor lubrication significantly. Unfiltered particles, debris, metal chips etc.
Flowing in the loop is one of the main causes of compressor failure which causes the compressor to seize up.
