New Electric and Electrical Architecture Commercial Vehicle Applications

Technology Maintenance Council (TMC) opened this week, an annual commercial vehicle trade show. Delphi kicked off the week demonstrating the latest and greatest in vehicle architecture solutions.

As more functionality and features are added to vehicles, including commercial vehicles, complexity is substantially increased. Delphi is developing more sophisticated and efficient electrical systems to support all of this new content.

Commercial vehicles are particularly challenging due to operating under harsher driving environments. Delphi is optimizing its electric and electrical architecture portfolio to specifically address the demanding performance required of heavy-duty vehicles; particularly to address high vibration and high temperature commonly found on heavy duty vehicles.

Some of the products in Delphi’s portfolio include:

  •  APEX 2.8 – heavy-duty connection system designed to perform in demanding applications such as a high vibration and temperature environment
  • Sensor connection system solutions for demanding on-engine powertrain applications
  • Lighting solutions that withstand demanding high temperature bulbs and heavy-duty conditions
