Since the launch, FPS has discovered that the opportunities do not end there. Research found that while virtually all garages and mechanics rely on a constant supply of office products, less than a quarter of motor factors stock these products for re-selling. Consequently, customers are left to purchase elsewhere, with many turning to high street outlets or purchasing from the handful of contract stationers that dominate the market.

Stationers often use contracts to tie customers to prices lasting up to 3 years. Pricing can often be inflexible, making it difficult to achieve the best value. They may also impose high minimum order quantities or values, as well as delivery charges. Knowing that there are huge savings to be made, office supplies appeared as a natural progression for the consumables range.
