Remy Automotive UK Ltd, the UK’s leading automotive parts remanufacturer, has announced the introduction of a new electric steering column range which it believes will be the most comprehensive in the European Aftermarket, both in LHD and RHD.

The initial offering is for a total of over 130 specific model types from eight manufacturers, including Fiat Group, Ford, Hyundai, Renault and Vauxhall.

“As the industry moves towards electric power steering systems, this will provide tremendous future opportunities for the UK Aftermarket”, says Michael Flensborg, UK Sales & Marketing Director of Remy Automotive. “In 2000 approximately 4% of all vehicles were fitted with EPS, whereas in 2012 this was almost 40%. Column-drive EPS (CEPS) is widely expected to emerge as the preferred technology so the new product group which we have launched is of this type. This means that we are now in a position to supply a completely remanufactured electric power steering system: a steering rack and the electric steering column (electric motor and control unit).

“The programme will be reman with core surcharge and we will be formally launching it with units available for customers in July, by which time it will be in the Remy CD-Rom catalogue.
