The 2009 guide to the UK motor industry covers the full vehicle life cycle, with sections on registration and production data.

This year it also has information on eco innovations, greener driving and end-of-life vehicles.  The guide shows that the UK auto industry exports 76% of the vehicles it makes and that last year the UK registered 2,131,795 cars and 351, 384 CVs.

The best-selling used car was the Vauxhall Astra and the favourite car colour was silver; ten years earlier it was red.  In the UK, the industry turns over £51bn a year, making 1.75m cars and CVs, exporting most of them and keeping 800,000 people in work in the UK alone.
