UAN distributor Autoparts took its suppliers to the waves recently, with its annual trip on the luxury yacht Drum, previously owned by Duran Duran, lead singer Simon Le Bon.

Suppliers attending the trip this year included Brake Engineering, First Line, FPS, MAM Software, Sogefi and TMD Friction.

The yacht set sail down the river Clyde to the Isle of Cumbrae before taking a five hour journey towards Campbleton on the Mull of Kintyre.

Having docked in Campbleton, the crew were ‘caught short’ by discovering that – during their stay – the tide had gone out and the Drum had dropped 20 feet down the harbour wall, leaving everyone to scramble down a wet ladder to get onboard.

Finally, after an overnight stay aboard the Drum, the crew reached Ails Craig where guests were able to take rocks from the island used for making curling stones.
