Tetrosyl is withdrawing its Tetracan Fuel Cans after noticing that a very small number of cans, with an incorrect neck height, prevent the cap, spout sealing to its normal exacting standards. Tetrosyl says that unfortunately the fault is sporadic and random and therefore difficult to identify as to when and where it may have occurred. This fault can cause cans to leak when not upright, however the Carplan can is a square, flat-base design which minimizes the risk of toppling over. In addition robust tightening and the presence of our unique safety seal, which swells on contact with fuel, also minimize any potential leakage. Nevertheless this is a safety critical product and as a responsible manufacturer; it has decided to recall all cans from the supply chain for examination. The good news is that all stock from May 2008 is fine. Each can is date marked to show month of production. Please note the Carplan Bell design is unaffected. Please examine your stock and remove from sale all cans marked prior to May 2008 and email the following address: [email protected] Tetrosyl will then arrange to uplift and exchange.
