Peter Schofield, Group Chairman of the Tetrosyl Group has been crowned ‘UK Entrepreneur of the Year for Manufacturing’ at this year’s National awards ceremony, held at the London Hilton, Park Lane. The prestigious event, held earlier this month, follows from July, whereby Peter Schofield was awarded Regional Winner for the North.

Peter Schofield is delighted that the Tetrosyl group is being recognised for its efforts and strengths, with Ernst & Young stating ‘Tetrosyl is the largest manufacturer and supplier of car care products in Europe. Now generating £180m a year they are one of the biggest suppliers in Europe and developing businesses in Korea, Japan and North Africa. But they have stayed true to their roots providing jobs to over 1200 local people in their home town of Bury.’

Tetrosyl saw off strong competition from some of the leading businesses in the region to make it to the final of this year’s Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” Awards 2012. The annual awards event, which has been running for 26 years, celebrates businesses that drive growth in the UK and will help lead our economic recovery. Tetrosyl were among 45 finalists vying for national recognition from Ernst & Young.

Stuart Watson of Ernst & Young states “All of the winners are outstanding entrepreneurs driving their businesses with innovation, inspiration and commitment. Entrepreneurs are investing in people and ideas, creating jobs and wealth, exporting their products and services, attracting foreign investment and supporting their communities to make a real difference. In a flat economy the finalists in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards grew revenues by 20% year on year, demonstrating what dynamic businesses can achieve.”
