Gates makes turbocharged move up the straight

Gates has responded to industry reports about oil-soaked turbocharger hoses that have subsequently failed and led to VOR situations, by extending its OE quality heavy duty truck and bus replacement hose portfolio.

Silicone Turbocharger Hoses were added to the Gates Extra Service range at the end of 2015. It’s a move that takes turbocharger hoses out of the ‘OE dealer replacement only’ bracket and makes finding and installing the appropriate replacement part far easier because the hoses are catalogued by Gates according to OE reference numbers.

Equipped with a non-permeable FKM liner that contains the oil under extremely hostile vehicle engine environments, the Gates Silicone Turbocharger Hoses are a fast solution in either a VOR situation or as a preventive maintenance measure.

References vary according to internal diameter, external diameter and maximum working pressure so the initial range of 27 different references provides almost universal coverage for almost every truck and bus application that requires a straight connecting hose replacement.

“As the hose can be cut to suit the required length, it is suitable for a wider range of applications, which translates into significant time savings for installers as well as significant savings in cost over dealer prices,” says Gates Regional Sales manager Darren Spooner.
