UAN distributors roared their way to a great day out after finishing out in front in a special trade promotion.
Around 80 people took part in a Masterclass Driving Day at the Rockingham Motor Speedway circuit in Northamptonshire after they came out on top in a spark plug promotion organised by NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd.
The lucky group took part in a series of driving challenges at the circuit after their success in the national incentive programme run by NGK – the leading supplier of genuine original equipment spark plugs, glow plugs and Lambda sensors.
The factors were split into six teams who took part in a series of challenges at the circuit, which saw them drive a Ferrari 360, Aston Martin Vantage V8, 5.7-litre Chevrolet powered supercar, a single-seater racing car and Mini Cooper S, as well as testing their skills in a Lotus Elise on a wet grip section, on a rally course in a Ford Focus, and also on an F1 simulator.
It was a view echoed by Roger Brentnall of UAN distributor AutoSupplies in Bolsover. He said: “It was a great day. The Rockingham staff and drivers were incredibly helpful and it was fantastic to go round the circuit in a Ferrari.”
Paul Collins, of UAN distributor Midland Car Parts, Derby, said: “It was a terrific day and memorable to drive performance cars on a proper race track. It was a slick operation and everything went like clockwork.”
Opened by Her Majesty The Queen in 2001, Rockingham was the first new purpose-built circuit to be built since the famous Brooklands circuit. Approx
