Universal Components Group (UC) has acquired Abal Engineering Limited effective 26 October 2009.

Universal Components says this is a "strategic acquisition of a successful and profitable commercial vehicle wholesale distributor. This is aimed at increasing availability and depth of product that will give our customer base an advantage in the marketplace."

The changeover will be effective as of Monday 26 October with stock being moved from Abal in Manchester to Universal's Sheffield and Trafford Park sites this weekend.

Part Numbers:
• All Abal Parts will be cross referred to Universal where one exists.
• All Universal Parts supplied will indicate an Abal part number cross reference.
• New Abal parts not in Universals range will be created under the existing Abal reference.
• A full cross reference will be available from the website at www.ucukltd.com
• Parts supplied will be either Abal or Universal until stocks are depleted of Abal product.
• Abal have similar suppliers to UC and all product will be inspected prior to despatch.

Pricing:
• All adopted parts will be re-priced in line with its current factor price list - May 2009.
• A full price list, cross reference & unit of issue will be available from [email protected]
• All special prices will also be loaded against the existing UC part number.
• Ongoing reviews will be made with a distributor's Regional Manager for usage in the near future.

Accounts:
• Universal Components will not be responsible for debtors prior to 26th October 2009.
• Existing UC accounts will be used and all new accounts will be contacted by a Regional Sales Manager where they will be advised of their account number and UC's Terms and Conditions of Sale which outline its general trading conditions.
