Tetrosyl product recall

Tetrosyl is withdrawing its Tetracan Fuel Cans after noticing that a very small number of cans, with an incorrect neck height, prevent the cap,spout sealing to its normal exacting standards.



Tetrosyl says that unfortunately the fault is sporadic and random and therefore difficult to identify as to when and where it may have occurred.



This fault can cause cans to leak when not upright, however the Carplan can is a square, flat-base design which minimizes the risk of toppling over. Read More..

Supplier price increases update

The following suppliers have notified UAN with regards to price increases: Miswa Chemicals. Prices will increase from 1 June 2008 on the following Polygard products: Antifreeze and coolant, screenwash, de-icer, brake cleaner, wash and wax, traffic film remover, exhaust putty and brake fluid. Tetrosyl have announced a price increase on spirits from May 17th and an increase on lubricants and screenwash from June 7th. Read More..

Mahle in Bosch tie-up

Mahle and Bosch have agreed to establish a fifty-fifty joint venture to develop, manufacture, and market exhaust gas turbochargers. The venture began in April 2008 and the company will be called "Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems" which will be headquartered in Stuttgart. As part of the downsizing concept for the engines of the future, exhaust gas turbochargers are one of the key technologies for achieving a sustained cut in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Listening to music could cost factors

Industry trade body ADF is alerting the trade to the increased activities by officials from the Performing Right Society (PRS), the body which licenses music use by businesses and distributes royalties to the writers and publishers of the music. With the increase in music downloads from the Internet, music publishers and record companies face declining sales which, in turn, means that the royalties due to artistes and composers are more difficult to collect. The PRS has therefore become far more active in seeking out illegal use of music in workplaces. Read More..

ADF aims to improve factoring standards

The ADF is encouraging members to adopt business improvement programmes, leading to accreditation to a standard developed by the Federation. This follows significant progress in the development of an ATA parts personnel assessment programme for members' staff and builds on the revision of the ADF's Code of Practice, which was unanimously adopted at the Federation's AGM in 2006.
