Curtain closes on CV event

The Commercial Vehicle Show 2008 has come to its conclusion after three busy days at the NEC Birmingham.



UAN suppliers present at the event included EBS, PBL, Elta Lighting, Manbat and Roadink International.

First Line warns trade

UAN supplier First Line is reacting to the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide legislation with the launch of an awareness campaign highlighting the risks of supplying non-OE matching parts. Under the new legislation, motor factors that supply spurious quality parts could face prosecution if the vehicle the part is fitted to is involved in an accident, resulting in a fatality. UAN suppliers Pearl Automotive and Sovereign are the latest suppliers to install MAM Software's Autonet electronic trading solution to power their e-commerce initiatives. Their participation takes the total number of Autonet-enabled suppliers to almost 70. Conference sets new standards

United Aftermarket Network (UAN) is celebrating after successfully holding its largest ever distributor and supplier conference in Prague, Czech Republic. More than 160 delegates took part in 600 distributor , supplier meetings in one afternoon during the conference at the Hilton Hotel Prague in early February. UAN has strengthened its supply supply deal with Gates, with product available through FPS and warehouse distributor GP Automotive.



The Gates approved products include: Timing Belts, timing belt kits, drive belts, drive belt kits and, tensioners.

New legislation comes into force

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act came into effect this week. Under the new law companies, organisations and, for the first time, government bodies face a criminal offence and larger fines if they are found to have caused death due to their gross corporate health and safety failures.
