UAN approved supplier Bestplate has informed the group of the following changes to current numberplate legisation: 1. From the 1st August 2008 the Register of Number Plate Suppliers will be extended to Scotland and Northern Ireland. The play on words said it all for one UAN distributor, who spotted this 'interesting' advert for Air Asia, promoting one of its destinations Phuket, home of the 2008 UAN incentive trip. The upcoming UAN incentive trip looks set to be the group's biggest yet, with dates for the trip confirmed as 14 to 21 March 2009. New appointments

UAN CV supplier European Braking Systems (EBS) , Abal has appointed Paul Johnson as product development and purchasing manager.



Johnson started his career at Trailercraft (Bradford) in 1986, before moving to Abal in 1996 as technical warehouse manager, before moving into product development and sourcing.



He left Abal in 2007 but is delighted to have returned to the company in his new role, which will see him explore product development, sourcing, stock control and purchasing. Read More..

Elta aims to light up sales

Elta Lighting has launched a new Lucas Single Box stand (pictured), capable of contain more than 200 bulbs.



The stand is available for distribution from Monday 21st July and includes a bulb identification panel and storage space for spare bulbs.

TFL sets record straight on LEZ

SMMT's Transport News Brief has heard that some operators thought that Transport for London (TFL) had dropped its policy of a 28-day grace period after a vehicle was first spotted in the LEZ. SMMT contacted TFL and the response was: 'TfL's policy of issuing only warning letters to operators of non-compliant vehicles the first time they are seen within the Low Emission Zone will be in place throughout the life of the scheme. The policy has worked well in the months since the scheme started and TfL is very pleased with the levels of vehicle compliance. Read More..
